just purchesed a swowrdsman
I built my first swordsman in the 60s and it ran well I have just got one of ebay that was built 25 years ago it has just arrived and I am very pleased wth.
it does have an ic motor and radio and is eready to go but it is comming out to fit a brushless motor I would like to fit a Taycol but untillw get 9000 nimhs that willfast discharge and are light ill stick to brushless illtry and do a build changeover so members might find it a saclaidge removing the old ic but my health wont alow me to be able to run it and my wife has enough problems lifting them in and out of the water

Re: just purchesed a swowrdsman
the swordsman is now striped out, what was going to be a cosmetic job is now a full re build there was a lot of led in the back that had been epoxied in also around the prop shaft was what looked like a pitch type of material but it was an old epoxy resin we found there had been a repair to the keel and the prop angle was wrong so a lot of work but the main thing is it is now about half the weight , and it looks like it is worth doing, I am going to do it the same as the race boats, the next job will be fairy power spraying the inside down to bear wood.then set about the installation of the new prop shaft and motor any suggestions on a brushless I will be using nimhs eather 14,4v or 21.6v looking at thumper the only thing is it has to have a 5mm shaft and be an out runner.

Hi Peter
I am trying to start a post about my Lifeboat but couldn't work out how to put photo's straight on without hosting them and putting a link as others have done. How did you get your photo's direct onto your post?
Thanks.
Regards,
Marie

Swordsman
hi, I have 2 Aerokits Swordsmans, both purchased in poor condition over the last two years and restored and repowered with Brushless motors.
One has the whole cabin as a lift off access, the other just the roof. Not sure if the kit could be built either way ??I used Turnigy H600 Typhoon motors running on 16.8 Volts with 120 A Seawing ESCs which I find superb
Straight line speed is great and turn in and handling top class. I just sold the master mould for a GRP version but have a mint / new hull also ready for fit out - this time with twin Turnigy H500 1600 Kv motors for hopefully even more top speed..
I belong to Knightcote Club in S Warks which is lovely but has limited space for high speed running so usually go down to Portishead nr Nr Bristol for high speed runs
.rgds john....don't know how to post pix yet but vidoes of this are on youtube
